Timeless Excellence
Production and textile culture since 1906
The renowned Lisio manufactory was founded at the beginning of the 20th century on the initiative of Giuseppe Lisio - "a weaver of every color," as Gabriele d'Annunzio described him as great admirer - with the aim of reviving the ancient silk weaving techniques of the Florentine Renaissance.
The success of Lisio fabrics was immediate and astonishing, both in Italy and around the world, and Lisio silks immediately established themselves as true icons of elegance for both clothing and furnishings.
Upon Giuseppe Lisio's death, his young daughter Fidalma decided to continue her father's business and promote his unique values: to preserve and to hand down the absolute beauty of fine fabrics, velvets, and silk, gold, and silver brocades, and the unmistakable "Lisio Style." With the opening of a new, more modern manufactory in Florence, Giuseppe Lisio's heir breathed new life into her father's business.
After more than twenty years, a new dream of Fidalma's came to life: in 1971, the current Arte della Seta Lisio Foundation was founded, which also promotes a renowned textile art school and is the sole custodian of the historic looms and the Lisio textile archives.

«A century and three generations of absolute excellence in the creation of extraordinary Art Fabrics, all unique, incomparable masterpieces that have made Lisio’s name famous worldwide».
Francesco Ortona, President
