Headwear: from the Nineteenth Century to the 1990s

During this period, the uses and styles of headwear multiplied, became more complex, and at the same time became both more accessible to the general public and more exclusive in certain forms and functions.
We will also explore how, during the second half of the twentieth century, formal and ceremonial headwear lost much of its importance while, at the same time, partially returning to prominence within youth culture and street styles.

Artworks depicting interior settings can also be studied by focusing on this aspect, which is often essential and never accidental for understanding the work itself.
